CISCO report on malware

Cisco published an interesting report on the 2010 developments on the malware scene. They discuss the economics of malware, the recruiting of mules (people who funnel stolen money on criminal's accounts) and future developments. The prediction I find most interesting is that Apple computers will be targeted next year. Another prediction is of course that smartphones will targeted.

  1. I only read about iPhone, iPad, iTunes. The mac is still the island of the blessed?
Also, what about Linux minus Android? Or did I miss something?

  2. I think that Linux minus Android will never become an attractive target for commercially oriented criminals. Too few users, I hate to write that.

The report predicts that Macs will become a target, as I wrote. I'm not yet convinced; we will see if Mac OS 10.7 will bring further security improvements.

  3. A gadget with no against malware is a decent spot for malevolent programming and on the off chance that one can get in then hundreds can get in. One infection on a PC can drag it down a considerable amount, however various infections can make a PC almost incapable.
